Most people will tell you that after a while no matter what you do the weight stops coming off. I have hit that point.

It would be very easy for me to give up, but I have decided to have a breather for a couple of days and start a fresh from Thursday. Now dont get me wrong, when I say I am having a breather it does not mean I am hitting the biscuit barrel and stuffing my face, I am just taking it easy.

Rachel and I polished off 5 bottles of wine on Sunday night (Rachel probably only had about a bottle) and one glass ended up all over the carpet (it had to be red didn’t it?)

Tonight I am going to have a curry with the lads, and start the diet properly tomorrow. I am hoping that a little of what you fancy does you good.

I have been to see the Nurse today.

I have to say I was dreading it, becuase I was convinced I had not lost any weight. When she told me I had lost 3kg you could have knocked me down with a feather.  So my total is now 14.2kg in 2 and a half months

Rachel keeps telling me that you can really tell, but I feel exactly the same. I have had to stop eating baked potatoes and beans cos I am bored bored bored bored bored of them. I am now eating Uncle Bens microwave rice, tin of tomatoes and tin of tuna all together in a bowl with lots of tabasco.

I am going to have to start making meals and freezing them so I can take them to work. If anyone has some different recipies please let me know.

OK, now its getting really difficult. When the lads at work are eating takeaway and at home the kids are eating sweets and chocolate I am finding it really hard.

I did have a night out on Saturday in Milton Keynes,  got really drunk and had a burger on the way home. Next day at work I had to have the obligatory morning after bacon buttie, but other than that I have been really good. Oh I forgot, chicken kebab on monday night, but after driving for 3 hours from Milton Keynes to Blackpool I reaklly needed something yummy.

I have found a  new simple meal. Tin of plum tomatoes, small tin of tuna, 1 pack of microwave plain rice and of course lashings of tabasco. I know most people won’t believe me but it’s really tasty

So while at work I am having baked potato and beans for lunch, with tuna rice and tomatoes for dinner. Sometimes I have breakfast (poached eggs an beans) I have stopped snacking and I am drinking plenty of fluids.

Its getting very hard when I am at home though, with the kids eating nice tasting food, my resolve is tested and I have to admit I do give in to temptation.

I am getting bored of eating the same thing all the time. I know there is plenty of choice, but with only a microwave I am eating baked beans, and baked potato. I do spice it up with tabasco sauce (plenty of it)

My weight is now 126.5kg so everything is going fine so far. I have bought a bike and we took the kids for a 4 mile bike ride, which is good to get some exercise.

July 10th, 2009

I went to the doctors today. I am now 131kg which is a drop of 5kg since I started this.

I must admit, I find it easier to stick to the diet when I am at work. I work 12 hour shifts and there is only a canteen on site which means all I have is a microwave. The B&B I am staying at is 1.2 miles from the pub so I haven’t had a drink for a couple of weeks (its too far to walk LOL)

I went to see the nurse at the doctors today. she told me the obvious, I need to loose weight. She went through the usual checking my weight, blood pressure etc.

The good news is that my weight has dropped by 1kg, I am now 135Kg which is good news. There is a long way to go, and it isnt easy but so far so good.

I am trying to understand Rachel’s slimming world book, following red days (original) and green days. Basically when you on a red / Original day its the atkins low carb diet, and when you on a green day its a low fat diet. I don’t understand how it works, but all the literature promises it will, and don’t forget I have lost 1kg already.

They always say that once you have decided to do something nothing will stand in your way. Today I decided it is time to loose some weight.

There are many reasons I have decided to do this, some of these include.

  • Im not getting any younger.
  • I am getting bigger.
  • I am fed up of the kids talking about my big tummy.
  • I am often out of breath after a gentle walk.

And the list goes on.

The only way I can start this and keep to it is to publish how I am getting on over the Internet for everyone to read so I will be embarrassing myself into sticking to it.

So here goes. My Starting weight today is 136 Kg. wish me luck
